Rashid Khan Strengthens Hold on World No.1 ODI Bowler Ranking as Shai Hope Breaks into T20I Top 10 Following Run of Centuries

Rashid Khan has strengthened his hold on top spot in the ICC Men’s ODI bowling rankings, while West Indies captain Shai Hope has broken into the top 10 of the T20I batting charts.

Rashid claimed figures of 4-17 against Zimbabwe in the ODI tri-series in Abu Dhabi, as Afghanistan registered a commanding 158-run victory on Monday. The performance has taken him to 742 rating points, tightening his grip at the top of the ICC bowling charts. He is now 80 points clear of second-placed Abrar Ahmed, who has 662 points.

Kuldeep moves up to No.5

There is one other change in the top five rankings for ODI bowlers. Kuldeep Yadav moves up a spot to No.5, replacing Maheesh Theekshana. Kuldeep picked up seven wickets in three ODIs against the West Indies at the start of the month. Keshava Maharaj and Mitchell Santner are ranked No.3 and No.4 respectively.

Afghanistan batter Sediqullah Atal was another major beneficiary of the latest update. His 102 helped Afghanistan post 294 after they chose to bat first, and earned him a 12-place rise to 20th in the ODI batting rankings.

Bangladesh’s Taskin Ahmed made significant progress in the bowling rankings. He moved up nine places to a career-best 12th after figures of 3-44 against Zimbabwe in the tri-series.

Hope enters T20I top 10 after century against India

West Indies skipper Shai Hope had a memorable run in the recent series against India. He scored two T20I tons and finished the tour with four hundreds overall. As a result, he has moved up to No.9 in the T20I batting rankings. Hope scored both hundreds when West Indies were staring at a series deficit, and his knocks helped them mount strong comebacks. The series eventually ended 2-2.

West Indies spinner Gudakesh Motie was among the notable movers in the T20I bowling rankings, climbing 10 places to 26th.
