New Zealand Face Further Setback as Training Injury Strikes Before India ODIs

Devon Conway will miss the first ODI against India after a training incident involving his New Zealand teammate Matt Henry.

The pair collided while attempting a catch during a fielding session at Eden Park, a day before their encounter with the tourists.

Both players were treated immediately by medical staff on site and received Head Injury Assessments. Conway was then taken to hospital for further examination, which confirmed a concussion and ruled him out of the match.

Monitoring continues

New Zealand Cricket has confirmed that both players will continue to be monitored. Henry remains under consideration for selection.

The hosts are already without Mark Chapman and Rachin Ravindra, who are both injured.
